Hello and Merry Christmas! I just discovered your link and I have a question. My Dad was an American serviceman stationed in Glatton with the 457th Bomb Squad. I’d love to know more about his time there and see if anyone or their elders remember him. I’d love to leave a small bio and picture on your site and maybe on any bulletin boards you might have. Could I do that? Thanks so much………..Debbi

Morning Dan. Right off the top of my head, I believe dad was the 750th. It would’ve been great if they’d known one another. I’m so thankful for this website and the kind people who have replied.

I have recently become a resident of Glatton but had lived in the next village south, ie, Sawtry, since coming out of the Armed Forces in 1971.
I have been a member of the Royal British Legion for many years and about 8 years ago became involved with welcoming th e Veterans of the 457th Bomber Group, which was one of several Bomber groups around this area. The Veterans had been visiting there old Airfield and surrounding villages, on a biannual basis for many years, with their visits co-ordinated by a couple in Connington. Unfortunately, I believe that these visits have ceased due to age and health reasons.
I don’t know if this is news to you or not but if you did want any further information, I could put you in touch with people who have more knowledge and information than I do.
